Rich and Hearty Marinade
Prep: 5 minutes
Refrigerate: 2 hours to overnight
Servings: Marinade for up to 2 lbs. steak
2 T. Roquefort or blue cheese, crumbled
1 T. soy sauce
1 T. Worcestershire sauce
1 T. (heaping) powdered instant coffee (I use Folgers crystals, not
powdered, and a little more than 1 T. crystals)
l large clove garlic, finely chopped
1 t. coarsely ground black pepper
1 t. salt
2 T. vegetable oil (optional - I use about 1 T. olive oil)
Mix all ingredients in a blender or food processor until blended. Reserve
2 T. of the marinade for basting, if desired. Place your choice of steak
in a sealable plastic bag, pour marinade over steak, and rub mixture into
meat. Seal well and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight, turning bag
occasionally. Discard marinade. Grill steak and baste with the reserved 2
T.
