Bean Soup

16 oz great northern beans
2 qt chicken stock
1 1/2 c diced carrots
1 1/2 c diced celery
1 c chopped onions
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 clove minced garlic
2 tbs butter
2 tbs flour
1 c chicken stock
1/2 lb cubed ham

Soak beans over night. Drain.
Place beans, 2 quarts chicken broth, carrots, celery, onions, salt,
pepper, and garlic powder in deep pot.
Bring to boil reduce heat and simmer.
Remove 1/2 cup bean mixture and place in small bowl.
Mash well.
In small saucepan melt butter.
Stir in flour and cook stirring until smooth and bubbly.
Add chicken broth and blend well.
Add mashed beans, mix well, stir into soup.
Add ham, cook stirring occasionally until thoroughly heated.
