You might want to watch what you say from now on: Freedom of Speech doesn’t seem to matter now.
Freedom of Speech used to cover us all in this country - black, white, indian, arab, the purple and yellow polka dot folks too, not just “selective” cases.

Freedom of Speech.

We as Americans need to think real hard about this.

Freedom of Speech.

Right or wrong, agree or disagree, it is our right in this country to say whatever we want and not be prosecuted.

Think about it people.

Freedom of Speech.

Don Imus, right or wrong, whether I disagree or agree with him or not, like it or not, expressed his right to Freedom of Speech.

And he is being prosecuted for it by losing his job.

What does this mean? Simply: it means YOU - as an American - YOU - can be prosecuted for *anything* you say.

Scary thought, ain’t it? Think about it. Real hard.

Freedom of Speech.

I don’t approve of what Don Imus said. Because of that, I don’t have to listen to his show if he pissed me off, I can send him a pissy email, shoot a bird, whatever. Another freedom - imagine that!

The man apologized. Several times. Apparently “dialogued” with the offended parties. [my guess is dialogued will be the word of 2007. You heard it here first!]

And he gets fired. For exercising his right to Freedom of Speech. CBS and all of it’s affiliates should be boycotted because they are prosecuting Don Imus for exercising a freedom. *That’s* a bigger issue than being called names. And we’re apparently too blind to see it.

Should I, the next time anyone makes a comment that offends me as a woman and white american - (which happens all the freakin time, duh!) - whether they be black, white, indian, arab, or purple with yellow polka dots, create a ruckus and hope the offending party gets fired? Just so I can trample all over your rights, because *I* was offended over something that isn’t politically correct or nice? Or -maybe- consider the source for what it is and maybe turn the other cheek?.

Wanna guess at what will happen?
